LEVEL: BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE
Learn from our master barber educator how to cut, style and care for hair of all types and textures.
DAY 1:
Hair Classifications, Lengths and Types: from 1A to 4C (straight, wavy, curly & coily hair)
Products, Techniques and Styles: for modern and period looks
Tools: introduction to the hair cutting scissors, combs & WAHL clippers
Hygiene and Hair Prep: before the cut
Maintenance and Hair Care: for all hair types (1A to 4C)
DAY 2:
Methods: how to hold your tools and practise ‘clippers over comb’
Techniques: learn how to texturise with scissors
Practice: watch demos and practice ‘shaping up’
Shaving: learn the art of shaping facial hair
The Fade: master the trend
DAY 3:
Finish The Look: with tools, techniques and products
Afro and Textured Hair: how to create hairstyles for wavy, curly and coily hair
Work with Fibres & Drys: for finishing a look
Outlining the Look: using an airgun and powder products

OUR MASTER BARBER
Richard Calame
Richard is an expert barber and has been commissioned to work on commercials for Pepsi, Adidas and Manchester United with international football stars like Paul Pogba, Raheem sterling, Mario Balotelli and Romelu Lukaku to name a few.
As well as being a longterm salon owner, he also offers his my services behind the scenes on film sets and dramas such as Peaky Blinders.
Richard is a qualified and experienced tutor and he leads the barber training at the MU-A studio to help trainees, hairdressers and make-up artists master their craft and develop their skills working with Afro Caribbean & European hair.
